I forgot the Best Part!

Once I found out I was Pregnant I needed to come up with a great plan to tell Bryan. 

I am the worst lair in the world so I decided to text Bryan rather than call him. I said "The nurse was really nice and everything went well."

I was hoping that would cover it until he came home later that evening.

...but...

it didn't.

He decided to call me and ask for more details. I was at Walmart when he called so I told him I had a yeast infection and I was getting some yogurt :) He didn't think anything of it. He asked if they gave me some medicine and I got stumped so I was like "no they just told me to stay away from sugar for a while."

I got away with it! He hung up and said he'd be home in a little while.

While at Walmart I gathered things together to make him a poster. I found some cute little neutral sex animals and colors and went home and put it together. I also planned on video recording Bryan's reactions but that didnt go so well as you will see. 

  The best part is he didn't read it as Boy or Girl

He read it as Baby Girl!!! 

He was so confused! :)

So about the video.... I didn't hit record when he walked in so I missed the whole thing :( I was so sad but Bry was definitely happy I missed it. <3

But once I came out from hiding, he hugged and kissed me and said

"seriously?" with an enormous smile 

5 more weeks!!!!

November 15th seemed so far away!
          I called and made an appointment with Dr. Brian Lindstrom for my first OB/GYN appointment! I was counting down the days to Bryan. 3 more weeks! 9 days! 3 days! tomorrow! I think the hardest part was that we decided not to tell anyone until we went to this appointment. We wanted to know how far along I was and that everything was ok. However, I started to freak out a little because as a first time mommy I don't know what to expect. So... we called and spoiled the news to Ma Strain who was extremely excited! The best part is that Johanna was in the back ground listening and I hear a squeal. hahaha 

          Finally Friday arrives. Bryan came and picked me up and off we went. We met with a nurse first to take vitals which were normal and then while meeting with Dr. Lindstrom a tap on the door says "we are waiting for Melissa in the ultra sound room." Woohoo!!! We step out for a moment. I was so excited... until they said we are doing an internal picture! WHAT!? hahaha... first thoughts PAP Smear! ew! but it was nothing like that. Bryan laughed at me. Our little peanut was dancing around the screen. But I didn't get to witness it because the nurse and Bryan had the best seats in the house. When she turned the screen around for me it stopped wiggling. So cute and small... looked like a little gherble. I was 9 weeks and 1 day. Heart beat was normal and everything looked good except she couldn't find my left ovary...oops. 
When she printed the picture out she handed it Bryan first and as I'm sitting on the table I was like "um, can I see our baby please?" haha, Bryan was so cute. I can't even describe his reaction it was something you had to be there to witness.

October 13, 2013- I got really really sick and I told Bryan I needed to go see a Doctor because I wanted to throw up and I wouldn't and I was in pain. 

October 15, 2013- I went to the East Flagstaff Family Medical for an appointment and met with a lovely lady named Cathryn Draper, around 2 in the afternoon. After running a few diagnosis she asked me if there was any chance of being pregnant. I said "yes, but I had barely been off of birth control." She got a little excited and said she'd have them go run a urine test. We sat there quietly until she popped her head up and said "I just heard the machine stop." She comes back in and opens a sticky note reading:
